Therapeutic models and skills I use

I believe that effective therapy is a deeply personal journey, which is why I use an integrative approach. This means I don’t subscribe to a single therapeutic model, instead I thoughtfully draw on a range of models to tailor each session to your unique needs, personality and therapeutic goals. You are not simply fitting into a system—the system adapts to you.

My primary focus is on collaboration. Whether we are gently exploring past experiences, learning to manage current anxiety or actively building self-esteem, our sessions will be paced entirely around you. The goal is always to create a safe, compassionate space where you can gain a deeper understanding of your thoughts, feelings and patterns to find a way forward that feels authentic and manageable.

Just some of the modalities I use and explore are:

  • Creative Therapy
  • Existential
  • Psychodynamic
  • Person-Centred
  • Inner Child

Step-by-step

Therapy can be short term or long term depending on your goals and what you want to get out of our counselling sessions.

Understanding where you are coming from

When we first meet, my main goal is to establish a truly safe, non-judgemental space. As an integrative therapist, my approach is built on the person-centred belief that you are the expert on your life. I don’t come in with a fixed script, instead I begin by openly exploring whatever you are currently facing whether it be persistent anxiety, complex trauma or a difficult life transition. This initial phase is crucial for deep listening and gaining a thorough understanding of your unique experience, allowing us to uncover the underlying issues that brought you to therapy.

A flexible approach, designed for you

Because no two people are the same, our work is highly flexible, this is the heart of the integrative approach. I thoughtfully combine elements from different modalities to directly address your specific needs and goals.

For example, I might:

  • Use psychodynamic principles to explore the subtle threads connecting past experiences to current patterns.
  • Incorporate creative therapy to help express difficult emotions when words alone feel insufficient.

Every session is a collaborative process, ensuring the support you receive is comprehensive, dynamic and always paced around you.

Achieving authentic and lasting change

The ultimate purpose of our work is to move beyond temporary fixes and cultivate lasting self-empowerment. By using this tailored, integrative method, you gain more than just coping strategies and you will build profound self-awareness. The result is a significant boost in clarity, confidence and resilience. You will be better equipped to manage life’s complexity and face your future with an authentic and solid sense of well-being.

Stepping into the session

A therapy session with me is dedicated and confidential time reserved just for you. For 50 minutes, our space becomes a collaborative sanctuary where you can speak openly about everything on your mind without the usual filters or fear of judgement.

You are in the driver’s seat. There is never a rigid script or set agenda. We might use our time to process intense feelings, explore difficult decisions or unpack current challenges. The direction of the work is entirely guided by your comfort and your needs. My constant role is to be an engaged listener, offering clear perspective and helping you discover the insights and tools you already possess.

The cornerstone of trust

Confidentiality is not just a policy, it is the absolute cornerstone of my practice. Everything we discuss including your thoughts, your stories and your history is held in the strictest confidence. This unwavering commitment to your privacy ensures you have the freedom to be truly honest and vulnerable, creating the safest environment possible for your deepest work and most significant healing.
